Transience by Cardboard-Octopus Transience by Cardboard-Octopus
Time doesn't leap, but flows into transience.
What's in the past is etched in memory, while the future is uncertain and faded.

This was inspired by this particular picture: [link]
When I first saw it, the first thing that popped in my head was that the skirt and the hair made it look like a pocket watch....

And so, this somehow was developed as a result.

I'm sorry that the colors are a bit...wonky from the scanner.
And my failed attempt at drawing metal.
I TRIED.

Here's the original: [link]
What happened to it was the paper got overworked, so when I added paint, her face peeled off. TT__TT
This is the third time I've redrawn this thing, with much better results, haha.

Oh! And I got a new brand of paints.
Much better than my old ones- these don't get gritty. C:

Your art style is positively awesome.
I mean, wow, this picture is so underrated; it deserves so many more views! (:
Their loss, I guess. :D

Yeah, I think it's funny how the pieces that actually get the most favorites are my ancient things that look pretty darn awful almost 4 years later, haha.
Oh well, whatever. It was fun to draw, even if I had to draw it multiple times. C:

This... This is amazing!
All I wanna do is have it framed and hanging on my wall!!

It's magnificent  And I like this redraw much more than the original

Really impressive! The figure is really well-drawn and has a great expression. Surely shows a great evolution by you on that particular subject. the colors are just amazing and I love the patern on her wear and how wel it combines with the rest of the work. I particularly like the ripped-flames, if we can call'em that, they give such a nice feel to the whole work, I can even get envious of'em, since I barely have an idea on how to make such an effect, and even harder to make as well as you did!

The stockings were taken from porcelain wares. My current minor obsession is with blue and white, as I love the combination.
Haha, yeah in hindsight, the flame-things remind me of what's-her-name, Black Rock Shooter, haha!
It's all curves and trying over and over again to see the best way to balance it all. Originally, I wanted an actual background, but I fell back into just doing shapes//curves again.
